The Ultimate Computer Illness No one likes getting sick. Interestingly enough, computers and other electronic devices with internet access can get "sick", too. You may be thinking to yourself, "How in the world can a computer get sick?" The answer: by contracting malware. You see, malware is a combination of two words; malicious and software. Malicious means "intending to do harm", according to Google dictionary. Therefore, malware is intended to do harm to your computer. So, if you get malware on your computer, it can be as bad as pneumonia or the measles. But, luckily, just like in real life, we have some preventative measures that we can take in order to keep ourselves (and our computers!) safe. But, before we can learn about the "vaccinations" and "hand-washing" we should do in order to avoid getting our computers sick in the first place, we need to know what computer "illnesses" we are preventing. |
